After the big rescue mission sequence, most of the rest of the book is Scout dealing with the trauma of being in the lab for five years, and she and Kyisha trying to figure out what their relationship is now. Scout becomes stuck in her human form (the same way she was stuck in her Shadoweyes form previously) so there isn’t much superheroing for her to do.
