Damn where does the time go? Yesterday I had food poisoning so I didn’t do really do much work, so that’s a good excuse, haha. Anyway here’s the current page in progress!
In the previous book, the posters on Scout’s walls had a lot of black on them, but drawing her bedroom again now the swaths of full black in the background seemed distracting so I left them white. Come the coloring stage, I’ll probably do them a dark grey instead.
The poster above Scout’s head was originally black with white lettering on it, and I guess in the old days I’d just do a white halo around Scout’s hair to separate it from the black rectangle behind her, but that seems so clunky to me now.
All the bands/musicians in Shadoweyes are made up, I’d imagine Scout listening to some kind of yet-to-be-discovered industrial/hip hop/trip hop/gabber fusion genre. The posters in Scout’s room are Flayed Inside, Nightpower, Cyborg Sister, Forge the Past (which I later adopted as my own musician name), BloodRedEarth, and Dolphin Danger (which I believe a friend of mine came up with but in hindsight doesn’t quite fit with the rest, but maybe that’s okay). The rest of the stuff on her walls are newspaper clippings and pictures of her favorite movie star/kickboxer Roxy Cannon.
